Cutter dredgers

A 'special' in our fleet is a 10" mini cutter suction dredger. This machine is currently one of the most modern small cutter-suction dredgers on the West European market. Although this is not (yet) usual in the case of small cutter dredgers, most of which are in use in inland waters, we have had this dredger designed to take into account the latest health and safety requirements: as a result of servo operating controls and insulation, the noise level in the cab has been reduced to less than 72 dB. Because operators do not come into direct contact with winch cables (separate compartments), this machine is also ideal for use in environmental projects involving the dredging of contaminated materials.

Now operational is a new Ø 500 mm Cutter Suction Dredger. In "cutter" mode, this machine will be able to dredge material in up to 20.0 m or (optional) 40.0 m depth. In "suction" mode, it will be possible to dredge to 40.0 m depth. This dredger is easy and economic to transport (by road, rail or ship) in 11 units each the size of one standard 40 ft sea container. The dredger was built with class certificate, which allows operation at sea up to 15 miles offshore.

CSD "Eems" dredging coastal waters

CSD "Eems" is a Cutter Suction Dredger that is as well fully transportable as Seaworthy. This is quite a unique combination. The "Eems" was build in 2001, and was constructed on base of ideas and demands we had about the features such a dredger should have.

So the "Eems" has an underwater pump, a (cutter-) dredging reach up to 20 meters under water, and a shallow draught to be able to do cutterworks for example for dredging foundations for motorways. She had to be easy transportable (to be able to travel through all European countries by road, avoiding expensive oversized transports. And, of course, she had to be seaworthy for working at sea in coastal areas.
We developed this cutter especially for smaller and midsized dredging jobs all over Europe.

Some of the interesting jobs we already dredged with CSD "Eems" during the short period she is operational are described in the Projects menu

Our large stock of Ø 500 mm pipeline and various boosters will enable us to transport the dredged material over several kilometres.
